We carry tires from 17 quality name brands, so there is real variety here -- from everyday value options to performance and all-terrain lines. Whatever your priorities, we can find a fit.

Tire Service FAQs

How do I know when I need new tires?

The clearest sign is tread depth. Insert a penny into the tread groove -- if you can see the top of the head, the tread is too low and it is time for new tires. Also watch for cracking or bulging on the sidewall, vibration at highway speeds, or a tire that keeps losing pressure. Age matters too -- most manufacturers recommend replacing tires after six years regardless of how they look.

How do I know which tires are right for my Ford?

Start with your owner's manual -- it lists the recommended tire size along with load and speed ratings for your specific model. Our technicians can also look this up by your VIN and help you think through options based on how you actually use your vehicle, whether that means highway driving, off-road trips, or getting through snowy winters.

Why should I buy tires from a dealership instead of a big-box retailer?

The biggest difference is knowledge. Our technicians specialize in Ford vehicles, so they know what works well on your specific model -- not just what is popular or in stock. We carry 17 name brands, use Ford-specific equipment for installation, and can handle related services like wheel alignment or TPMS sensors at the same visit.

What tire brands does Yark Ford carry?

We carry 17 quality name brands: Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Continental, Pirelli, BFGoodrich, Firestone, Dunlop, Hankook, Yokohama, Toyo, General Tire, Falken, Nitto, Uniroyal, Kelly, and Cooper. Plenty of variety across price points and performance categories.

How often should I rotate my tires?

Every 5,000 to 7,500 miles is the typical recommendation. Rotating tires regularly promotes even wear across all four, extends their life, and keeps your vehicle handling consistently. It is also a good opportunity for a technician to check brake pad wear while the wheels are already off.

Do I need to replace all four tires at the same time?

Ideally, yes -- particularly on all-wheel-drive vehicles where significant tread differences can put strain on the drivetrain. If only one or two tires are damaged, replacing them in pairs on the same axle is usually acceptable. Our technicians will measure all four and only recommend what is actually needed.

What is tire balancing and do I need it?

Balancing distributes the weight of the tire and wheel assembly evenly so they spin without creating vibration. If a tire is out of balance, you will typically feel a shimmy in the steering wheel or through the seat at higher speeds. Tires should be balanced at installation and rechecked periodically.

How does tire pressure affect my vehicle?

Running on under-inflated tires increases rolling resistance, reduces fuel economy, and causes the outer edges to wear unevenly. Over-inflation wears the center of the tread faster and makes the ride harsher. Check your tire pressure at least once a month -- the right PSI for your vehicle is printed on the sticker inside the driver's door jamb, not on the tire itself.

Can I schedule tire service online?

Yes. You can book a tire rotation, new tire installation, or inspection online whenever it is convenient. Prefer to talk it through first? Call us at 419-792-2618 and our service team will help you sort out what you need and get you on the calendar.

What should I do if I get a flat tire?

Get safely off the road as soon as you can and avoid driving on a flat rim -- it can damage the wheel quickly. A puncture in the tread is often repairable, while sidewall damage typically means replacement. Bring it in and we will take a look and give you a straight answer on your options.
